Astrological Psychology

Astrological Psychology (Huber Method) is a psychologically and humanistically oriented astrology. Today it is taught internationally and distributed in fonts of various languages, including German, English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Hungarian.

The Astrological-Psychological Institute (API) was founded in 1968 by Bruno and Louise Huber in Adliswil near Zurich. This kicked off European teaching activities, spreading a complete new view and orientation of astrology.

The name «Astrological Psychology» follows a new science of the human being, developed from modern psychological knowledge and ancient astrological knowledge. It is a synthesis between psychology and astrology. The spiritual background is the Psychosynthesis of Dr. Roberto Assagioli (Florence).

In a self-presentation of the work of his institute, the founder of astrological psychology, Bruno Huber, wrote	at that time:

«It has become modern to bring psychology into astrology. Thereby often new wine is put into old tubes cast, because the rules of interpretation in today´s astrological literature still date from the Renaissance and Baroque periods»

«We bring astrology to psychology. To be able to do so, we had to build a completely new building of rules in over 30 years of work.».

«Astrological Psychology is based on a basic psychological concept that grasps the human being as a whole, both as the human psyche in its interweaving with the environment and as a spiritual entity (individuality) that can freely relate to others».

In Astrological Psychology, the individual horoscope is used as a diagnostic tool. Problems of career choice, child rearing, marriage and partnership, as well as one‘s own spiritual development are seen in the context of the overall character.

It is alien to futurology, fortune-telling and other determinative ways of thinking.

The synthesis of Psychology and Astrology enables both a differentiated understanding of the personality and an integration and reformation of the whole person. 

The causality of human behaviour is recognised in its roots. Deep life motivations, unconscious aspirations, inner life goals are lifted into consciousness and create space for the creative human being.

In this sense, Astrological Psychology provides an instrument that allows us to penetrate deeply into the essence of our existence. 

Those who use it with a sense of responsibility soon gain insights that lead to a new comprehensive understanding of life and being. 

This means better self-knowledge and knowledge of human nature, autonomous life design and a genuine balance of interests between people.
