House meanings in contemporary AP

The Hubers understanding of the houses reflects the innumerable challenges that we all face throughout life. It reflects how our deepest inner motivations can come into conflict with our environment and other people. Here we need to reconcile our own personal desires and needs with the rules of society, as well as desires and needs of other people around us and in our communities. When conflicts arise we can choose how we respond to these and by cultivating an appropriate inner attitude we can learn to live in more harmony with the world.

It is within these new contemporary houses where we experience the presence and input of other people in our lives, especially from the milieu close to us (parents, relatives, teachers) as well as predominant conditions that these people place on us.

The houses are the stages of life where we play out our selves; we may get drawn into the energy of others, by conforming to demands, or be rebelling demands etc. Through childhood we have many conditions and demands placed upon us.

At some point in our lives we hopefully reach a point where our consciousness reaches a higher level and we develop an awareness of discord and entanglement that we may have within other people’s demands of us.

From this place of awareness we can make choices about how to deal with entanglements that may not be in our best interest, and maybe find a way to dissolve any feelings of polarity and find a more nuanced approach to our lives.

NOTE

The houses reflect the interface for communication between a human being and his environment. This is where the balance of interests between the inner needs of the individual and the outer realities of interacting with fellow human beings come into play. It is through the planetary positions in the houses (the influence of the milieu, the upbringing) that a human can observe any experiences impacting from the environment and its possible constraints or encouragements in everyday life.
